Foam Day
[LORNE] Foam Day from Alexander Cleland on Vimeo.
5th June, 2012: We gathered for the morning surf check at Lorne Point, then my mates Jack and Moona suggested we hit north Lorne to see if the conditions were right for "Foam Day". The stunning display occurred thanks to the raw swell agitating the water, strong southeasterly winds and over 150 millimetres of rain washing down a large amount of organic material into the turbid waters of Louttit Bay. We only get to observe this phenomenon every few years, and this was the most impressive we had seen so it was a easy choice to wettie up and get the cameras out. I'd like to credit Jack's rad camera skills for the pioneering concept of "foam tunnel" vision that was captured.
Track is "Sail" by Ash Grunwald (originally by Awolnation) from the album "Trouble's Door" (2012).
