Recycling a Surfboard by The Driftwood Collective

Recycling a Surfboard from pedro vieira on Vimeo.
Drawing inspiration from Tyler Warren's Bar of Soap, DwC hit the shaping room to make some dust!

Apart from resins and fiber clothes all material came from the trash bin:a broken and long forgotten longboard provided the foam and a wooden wine box turned into a couple of sexy fins.

The result is a green awkward looking little board... but make no mistake! this board is a supersonic joy machine set to make up for each minute we spent on its recovering.

Love draws Love!!!

Logging Days are here to Stay ! from Gypsykid Media House on Vimeo.
The faces behind lazyboxmagazine.com Oliver & Dougal Shaw cooled off after the release of the second issue of lazyboxmagazine.com by jumping on the Logs and shredding some waves out Rainbow Bay. Dougal decided to jam out with an original track while we watched the clips and we threw it all together to make this fun little clip enjoy it, and don't forget to check out the magazine it's worth it.

The Road Less Travelled

The Road Less Travelled from Andrew Gough on Vimeo.
A Road Less Travelled…

If I could really write you would be able to feel the slight chill of the dawn offshore and see the fluttering crest of the opposing swell as their rival paths collide. You would know it was the north coast of NSW as you could see the barren points extend from sweeping fields and thick bushland, tapering those swells into the ruler lines that we oh so adore. If I could really write, you would see a man. A werewolf of a man, riding tall and proud, riding fast and sleek, riding low and deep, swerving at will. Whatever the wave asks, this man responds accordingly. We got to jam on Chris Del Moro's rhythm for the weekend up in Byron and it was one sweet groove.

Korduroy.TV launches new website!

Korduroy sent me via tiago.reis78@gmail.com:

KORDUROY.TV LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE TO BECOME THE EPICENTER OF CREATIVITY IN SURF CULTURE

After a successful Kickstarter campaign and months of development, we have transformed from a successful cult blog to a clean, communal website featuring some of surfing and skating's most creative craftsmen and women. Focusing on creativity and self-reliance, join us as we trail blaze solutions for today's adventurous creatives through our articles, interviews and new lineup of eclectic web videos.

THE NEW EXPERIENCE

Along with our award-winning webisodes, the new Korduroy features a collective of the world's finest surf, snow and skateboard builders, as well as photographers, designers and filmmakers sharing their blogs, galleries and storefronts in one streamlined location.

In addition to the new Makers section, we have added 2 new series, 'Happy Beach' and 'D-I-Why Not' to our lineup of original shows as well as a new season of our popular 'Sea Movies' series with the support of REEF.

Here's a link to the video announcing the new site - https://vimeo.com/36180963

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

"As an independent creative and surfer, I've always wanted to see a focused place where influential people can share their ideas. I find myself spending way too much time surfing from Maker to Maker profile looking at what they're all up to, it's kind of addicting," explains Korduroy Founder and Creative Director, Cyrus Sutton.

ABOUT KORDUROY.TV

Korduroy.TV is a place where creativity meets the outdoors. Korduroy was the winner of Surfer Magazine's 2010 Battle of the Blogs and has been featured in ESPN, Ready Made, Nylon Magazine, Surfer Magazine, Surfing Magazine, The Surfers Journal, Tracks Magazine, Huck Magazine, New York Times, Mashable, Gizmodo and ESPN: The Magazine.

The One Motorcycle Show

The One Motorcycle Show is perhaps the only custom show in the world that embraces the imperfect. It's about the essence-motorcycles that are custom but not precious. Stripped down and built back up, but probably not the way the factory intended.
Hosted by See See Motorcycles and sponsored by Bell, the One Show is an annual celebration of utility, culture and creativity held in Portland, Ore.

2nd annual PIG luau!!!

Mr. Black - "Here it folks, 2nd annual luau! ...please bring your pig boards to the beach this June 22 - 24! I'm switching things up a bit this year. Instead of trying to take over the hut at oldman's I acquired 2 campsites at San Onofre Bluffs in between trail 3 and trail 4. We'll be smoking a pig this year, the herd of pig boards will be up on the cliffs. We'll surf sliders, san onofre, or the trails... I don't give a shit! This gathering is all about celebrating a life full of great friends, family and beautiful, great riding surfboards!!! I have a grip of new boards to check out, please bring yours!!!!!"

The Australia Diaries Chapter 4 by DEUS BALI

Australia_Diaries_4_001
Deus Bali - A very hush hush invite went out from the mouths of the Noosa crew, “anyone up for a bit of a road trip tomorrow?”. “Shit yes. Where and when?” were the only words we replied. Doc’s shed; 5:30 am was the call. The vehicles were gassed and loaded, with boards, food and beers (standard), ready for the road trip. It had the look and feel of an old wagon train ready to forge a trail on foreign soil (or beach), and for some of us, it was just that. The road and beach met, turning to one open highway with miles of sand as far as a native bird can see. With Josh Constable leading the pack, he decided… View More

New Model | Bing Swee’ Pea

Inspired by the Mini Simmons designs, Matt Calvani evolved the Dharma to be something more progressive. After a full season of riding and perfecting the Dharma, he wanted to continue the evolution with theSwee’ Pea so he kept the middle and tail the same width, pulling in the nose considerably, then going with a deep single concave going out the rounded tail. In turn, he had to increase the tail rocker to ensure the water would release, making the board more smooth and responsive off the top and bottom of waves with controlled speed. Like the Simmons and Dharma, he maintained the thinned out tail and rail for increased sensitivity. He also eliminated the concave deck, which was intended to maintain theDharma‘s flat rocker but increase the board’s sensitivity, and went with a slightly domed deck to get optimized floatation for surfers of varying builds and weight. The rounder outline, in comparison to the parallel Dharma, also lends itself to quicker, more responsive direction changes and can handle more power and speed. The Swee’ Pea is ideal for intermediate to advanced surfers, looking for a small-wave board that will handle up to double overhead conditions. This model can be ridden at the same length as your Dharma, but unlike it’s predecessor can be sized up to much longer lengths to suit a wider range of surfers.
