Tyler Warren x Zac Baillie by Korduroy TV
A Korduroy TV photographic collection curated by Ryan Tatar.
Words & Photos Zac Baillie
http://zacbailliephoto.blogspot.com/
"I met Tyler whilst he was the artist/shaper in residence at the DEUS ‘TEMPLE OF ENTHUSIASM’ in Canggu, Bali where I live. He had just returned from a trip to some other islands with Dunc Macfarlane who was kind enough to share his guy. Haha. Tyler is a renaissance man in the truest sense, and a rounded man be he painting, surfing, shaping, (beer drinking haha). Tyler puts the same passion into all these, and does it with a flair and humble demeanor that belies his talents and the years of work he’s put into his craft(s). To watch him shaping this board, nicknamed ‘Bali Soap,’ all by eye and feel, no templates, just passion and experience, was quite eye opening for me and was a nice way to spend a few days, especially shooting him on medium format 120 film."

PIGS in the UK!!!
Mister Griffster sent this to Mr. Black via surfapig@live.com:"Hey Mike, I've been following your blog for several years now, and been meaning to post these pigs to you for a while, I have no excuse apart from being a lazy ass... Here's 2 from the quiver, one that Rob Lion (Royal) shaped for me back last year - It's a Post Modern Pig 9'6" x 23 x 16 7/8 x 16 / 1/2. Nicely pinched rails, concave to belly roll with tail lift, with scooped tail and very slight S-deck about 22-25lb. Rocker is probably a little flatter up front than normal and absolutely flies when pressing the accelerator. Rob's now working over at Santa Cruz Board Builders so check him out if you're in the area. The other is your standard Michel Junod Pignar - 9 8 1/2 x 22 3/4 x 16 1/2 fore and aft with the standard step concave through to roll and traditional piggy rocker at about 25lb. Weighted beautifully to generate it's own trim speed and noserides better than some out and out noseriders I've ridden. Both boards leave you grinning from ear to ear!
Keep up the good work Sir and long live the pig!""

Is this the largest wave ever ridden?
Garrett McNamara rode what members of his group implied was the largest wave ever successfully negotiated during a tow-surfing session Tuesday off the coast of Nazare, a small fishing town 70 miles north of Lisbon, Portugal. The wave face measured "around 90 feet," according to a news release announcing the feat.

Bing Trimulux
Aussie Bing team rider Jack Norton has been riding his Trimulux the past couple of months and has given it the thumbs up. We've now got a 9'2" and a 9'6" on their way over.
From the Bing website:Available as a square tail or a pintail, this model’s name says it all. This board can be ridden 2” smaller in length then most traditional single fins because of it’s relatively little rocker. Flat on the deck and the bottom with a slight blended concave, Matt keeps this model an 1/8” thinner than most of the Bing models while maintaining the board’s thickness to an eggy 50/50 rail. This gives the board extra glide and turning sensitivity as well as ample noseriding ability for it’s size.

GARRETT MCNAMARA BREAKS WORLD RECORD RIDING THE BIGGEST WAVE EVER IN NAZARÉ PORTUGAL
RÉ
Garrett McNamara makes history again by breaking the current record of the biggest wave ever surfed. The wave, in Nazaré, came during the two month period of the ZON North Canyon Show 2011, with a height of around 90 feet (around 30 meters).
He was towing with Andrew Cotton (from UK) and Al Mennie (from Ireland) at Praia do Norte, when the bomb came in. Al was in the channel and describes the moment. "Everything seemed to be perfect, the weather, the waves. Both Cotty and I rode two big ones in the 60 ft plus range and then, when Garrett got on the rope a wave, maybe 30 feet. bigger came out of the canyon, it was meant to be. I had the best seat in the house as I was doing water safety on the ski as he dropped down the face of the biggest wave I've ever seen. It was incredible. Most people would look scared but Garrett looked in control as he went down the most critical part of the wave. It was an inspirational ride by an inspirational surfer. After the ride it was as if the sea calmed down. We sat out there and just absorbed both what had just happened and the surroundings. What a day!"
