9'4" Mr. Rodgers | Bing Surfboards
9'4" Mr. Rodgers
Fins: Single box, fiberglass fin included
Color: Clear volan top and bottom, 2-stringer (bass) with black foam t-band and offset glue lines, gloss/polish
Designed in collaboration with Bing rider, Mick Rodgers, the Mr. Rodgers is a Nuuhiwa/Rick Noserider-influenced noserider that is designed for ample lift while still maintaining forward trim speed and turning ability. The blended concave creates smooth noserides and control on the tip, and the slightly pulled in nose fits snugly in the pocket. The gradual curve in the outline compliments the turned-up rail-line in the tail allowing loose smooth turns and more control when setting up for noserides. The slight roll in the bottom and flatter rocker creates smoother transitions and improved trim. The Mr. Rodgers performs in a variety of conditions but excels in points and beach breaks, especially if there’s a little punch. Average nose: 18”, Average tail: 16 ½”

In this strange and beautiful treeless landscape of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, Leah Dawson's creative spirit has space to expand freely as she creates music, hand shapes her second board and dances on water with power and grace.
Grounded by earth and charged with energy by water, Leah Dawson is a solar creature influenced by the

"It wasn't me
I'm not the same guy
You got it wrong
Someone else made you cry
What do you mean?
What did I say?
Does it matter that I've Changed?
Well I was wrong and it's a shame
When you know, when it's gone
You've gotta start from right back where
You are... in the beginning
I tried again, it's the first time today
I promised mom
Not treat myself this way
But life is mean
And I can't be blamed
If it's difficult to change
I'm sorry yall
and it's a shame
When you know, when it's gone
You've gotta start from right back where
You are... in the beginning"

Interview with Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren
WORDS: ADAM SHERRETT
PHOTOS: STEFAN WIGAND
"Some say idle hands make for the devil’s handiwork. If this is true, then we might start classifying Tyler Warren as the patron saint of a new generation of surfers who splatter as much paint and resin as sea foam at their favorite point breaks.
Okay sure, sainthood is admittedly a ways off. But speaking with Tyler is like talking to a craftsman who seems to know something you don’t. It’s almost as if he sees something in the world that you don’t see. Maybe it’s his SoCal roots. Maybe it’s his family history in the arts (his mother’s great uncle was close friends with Frida and Diego Rivera). Regardless, once you get a whiff of his sun-soaked paintings and boards you’re able to get a taste of his vision, his love for the ocean, and his passion for the craft."

"You can clean around the wound
But if you want it to heal,
It just takes time.
And you can call up to the moon
But if you want something to change
You gotta change your life
And take your time
It just takes time
It just takes time
It just takes time
All of your time
And the sun will leave the room
Leave you to the night
And that's alright
Because before the morning comes,
There's a certain calm
And then there's light
It just takes time
It just takes time
Oh, just your time
You can change your life
It just takes time
Oh trust in your time
And I can sit and talk
'cause I was just like you
So arrogant and brave
Impetuous and crude
But trust me as a friend
And I'll do all that I can do
And I'll do anything for you
Because I want to see you through.
It just takes time
All of your time
You can change your life
It just takes time
A little trust in your time
A little trust in your time
A little trust in your time
It just takes time
Just your time
All of your time
All of your time
All of your time."

A Dominican Adventure
Every once in a while team Perropro decides to go on adventures.
On the road, the skateboard becomes a tool that goes beyond the freestyle; it becomes a device for discovery. There is a big difference between being a tourist and a traveler. Seeking adventures through skateboarding brings you to the real experience of enjoying a new culture from the inside.
Skateboarding is a language that transcends cultures and breaks barriers no matter where in the world you are. Like the backpacker with a guitar the skateboard creates conversations without the need for words.
Bruno is currently living in the Caribbean Islands working on an ecological project helping to reverse the neglect for our environment. Camilo and Alberto traveled from Columbia and Los Angeles respectively to join Bruno on his quest and to learn about his mission.
This is the story of 3 friends that exploring the wild and beautiful region of Samana. A place full of exotic vegetation and wonderful locals always smiling and willing to help with a broken motorbike. Often in awe, the locals saw a totally new way to interact with their tiny town.

Bruce Brown | Part One
Bruce Brown, Part One from The Surfer's Journal on Vimeo.
Quietly dwelling in a hidden arroyo near Santa Barbara (and in striking distance of his favorite ranchland surf spot) Brown spends his days with family and his collection of motorized hobby projects.
Bruce Brown aw-shucks his way through every interview he’s ever sat for. He leaves it for others to list his accomplishments and influence. If you’ve read the Bruce features in TSJ, you know the bullet points: Oscar-nominated director of The Endless Summer; commercial sword fisherman; pillar of the apocryphal Dana Point Mafia. And, like a tagline from a Dos Equis commercial, Steve McQueen was his desert racing wingman.
For this episode of POV, filmmaker Chris Malloy—no slouch himself in the surf-and-turf arts—sits a spell with the legendary lensman. Discussion turns quickly from the predictable and into the details of early bootstraps surf filmmaking.
Charming, self-effacing, and as real as they come, we hope you enjoy this two-part portrait of the master.

"Day Glo,
Chrome window,
Shapes in the clouds,
the hungry shoosh for miles around,
upstream, jumpin' out of the water,
gills in the air,
I got many people to thank,
but I can't write letters,
I can't write letters.
My friends on the edge of the old graveyard,
they sit on an old grey porch,
and watch foxes play,
and juggle wine,
the kind of wine that you don't mind spillin',
that you don't mind spillin'.
Well I fill out the forms and I make my death come slowly.
One at a time some kind of record unrollin'.
'You best begin sometime,' she said, 'but you can't start until you're ready.'
Yet it seemed to be controlled,
somehow bowed her fingernails, eyelashes and all the essential parts.
We talk about dreams a lot.
She reads our fortunes out loud,
I think it's funny and I go stay with her,
and I go stay with her,
and I don't mind dyin',
when I make love to her,
to her, to her.
Day Glo.
Under a wall of sound,
a riverbed of clay,
the distance between us stays,
close, but not close,
far, but not too far,
away.
Close, but not close,
far, but not too far,
away.
Day Glo."
