Puerto Rico 1968

Wayne Lynch 68 Puerto Rico

8'4'' PR / Putnam/ Hilburs

Always loved the way Wayne Lynch, Nat Young and Ted Spencer surfed in Evolution and the Hot Generation on these Mid length boards. Paul Gross really nailed an 8'4'' for me I still have , but after 17 years it's pretty beat. Hilburs and I made this a few years ago it's just tweeked on the rails, foil , and nose rocker. These really work in everything I surf, but I love this board in junk surf. It rolls on the rail like butter and cuts back so easy with that hip in the tail, fun stuff to look back, but improve (IMO) on old designs.

LAKE SURFERS ARE SO CORE...

Ryan Gerard is the owner and operator of Bing Surfboard's only Great Lakes dealer, Third Coast Surf Shop. Surfers have been sliding freshwater waves since the 1960s but with a recent growth in popularity, Ryan opened up shop in New Buffalo, MI in 2005 and has been leading the charge and spreading the stoke ever since. Above are a few pics of Ryan sliding his 9'4" NR Slim and one of him on a recent winters day (info from bingsurf.com).

Sam Cody

Meet the new BING airbrusher and pin line extraordinaire, Sam Cody. Sam recently joined the BING glassing team as an existing member of the Channin crew.

Sam’s not really “new” to BING at all because prior to going to work for Channin, Sam airbrushed BING Surfboards at the San Diego-based Gordon & Smith factory in the 1970′s.

Michele Puliti....piggies DOUBLE TROUBLE!

Here some beauties based on classic Velzy template. 9.6 to 9.9 lenght piggies just came out from Ola Surfboards. The pig shapes are gettin more popular here in Italy thanks to mastercraftman Michele Puliti's hands and to SingleFin.it guys efforts to give more space to what the most call retro-surfing-culture but I call real-pleasure of surfing. Anyway, waiting for my brand new narrower nose "Mud Pig" designed along with Michele will be glassed, I wanna thank you for you blog. Pig, as once I read, is not RETRO but it's about the future!

Bing Team Rider Jesse Hinkle Elevates & Creates

El Segundo’s Jesse Hinkle may be Bing Surfboard’s youngest team rider (age 16), but he already knows how to express himself on the waves and in his art. Jesse adds his own personal touch to his new 9’5 Bing Elevator and elevates at the Noosa Festival of Surfing this past Spring.

Cy's Aquatic Almonds

There are only a handful of Cy's Aquatic Almonds in circulation so far, and somehow Patrick Derry owns two of them. Glad you found a longboard you can't live without. (times 2)

This is Cy #1 and Eco-Cy at the beach.

JohnMan Wesley

Mentored in the Fine arts of wave sliding and surfcraft design, JohnMan Wesley is a true Surf Gremlin. If Robin and Al had a love child it would be this guy. John Wesley is the most positive and most surf stoked person that you will ever meet. His shapes are amazing, and his kill in the water is mind blowing. Here at RWSS we are unorthodox to say the least. When JohnMan finished this last batch of boards instead of having them pack them and ship them, we had JohnMan hop on a plane and hand deliver them to us. In a world of mass production it is incredibly rare that the person who hand shaped your board would also hand deliver the board 2500 miles just so that he can surf with you! Now that is what we call customer service. It is also rare that the person making the board is an amazing surfer. It makes a huge difference in board design and overall function. When the shaper shreds, he knows how to make boards that work, even if they look a little different than you would imagine. We are currently working on a special collaboration with JohnMan and will keep you posted on what we are planning… Thanks for the stoke JohnMan, you are always welcome here in Charleston!!!
