John Grannis, son of LeRoy Grannis, takes us through the legendary photo archives of his father, John "Doc" Ball and Bob Johnson.

In this episode, we visit the official archive of LeRoy Grannis in Hollywood, California to look through some of LeRoy's earliest work from Malibu in the early 1960s including unseen images of Miki Dora, LeRoy's camera collection, as well as photos from the early 1970s on the North Shore of Oahu.

In this episode, we head to Hollywood, California to visit the official archive of LeRoy Grannis. The Grannis Archive is made up of over 100,000 original photographs including the collection of John "Doc" Ball. "Doc" documented the first generation of California surfers, including LeRoy Grannis, throughout the 1930s - 1940s. He is acknowledged to many as the first official surf photographer on earth.

In this episode, John pulls out some photos by Bob Johnson, a good friend of his father's. While his photography is relatively unknown, Bob documented the first generation of California surfers alongside John "Doc" Ball in the 1930s - 1940s.
