Idyllic Clothing | Summer 2014

Hey guys,

My name is Jake Hart, owner of idyllic Clothing - a small surf/skate brand out of NJ. I just stumbled upon your blog today and I'm really digging it. Its got that modern vintage feel which is awesome.

This past summer, I shot a surf/skate film in black and white using a super 8mm camera. I thought, if you guys really wanna take it retro, you might be interested in the video.

In January 2015 the beautiful beach town of Sayulita Mexico played host to the The Mexi Log Fest, the largest longboard competition in Latin America, and one of the largest in the world. The Mexi Log Fest attracted the best longboarders in the world to Sayulita to compete over two days. The Log Fest was put one by Bing Surfboards team rider Israel “Izzy” Preciado and featured a handful of Bing Surfboards team riders including James Parry, Mick Rodgers, Mele Saili, Isreal Preciado, Alessandro Ponzanelli, and Lola Mignot.

Kepa & Cyrus | Peru

This past February Cyrus Sutton and Kepa Acero score perfectly shaped Chicama on the first South swell of the season. Cyrus met up with Kepa in the North coast of Peru hoping to get some late season North swells. Nothing came so they traveled to the Andes to see Machu Picchu and experience some Incan culture. A week into their stay an early season South swell prompted a short flight back to catch one of the world's longest lefts at Chicama. The waves weren't big but the sandbars were good. Here's a few highlights of their trip.

This Clip was shot in during my last stay in Mexico over new years 2015. Ian Chisholm and I have been working hard on designing a range of super functional longboards released threw his label South Coast surfboards. The board I'm riding here is called the "Classic" and its the design I have been ridding for the better part of my surfing life. A true California style nose rider. We have taken our knowledge of modern surfboards and mixed it with traditional templates, volumes and materials to come up with a few of the most functional longboard designs to date. From The Cottage

Hey Tiago,

I want to share a 'little something something' I have been working on. I teamed up with a local skateboard shaper 'Jimmy Kakanis' and created a short film about Cottage Skateboards, how it started and what it means to Jimmy to be able to create a job that incorporates all his lifestyle loves of skating and surfing here on the Gold Coast. Jimmy specialises in handcrafted and customised skateboards and has also dabbled in shaping handcrafted logs as seen in the film. Jimmy has been working on the Gold Coast, QLD Australia for the past three years.

After my last short HANDCRAFTED : Thomas Bexon I wanted to create more of a community feel showcasing the talented local artists currently living and working here on the Gold Coast. Jimmy is at the heart of this short documentary but I have made a point of using local musicians in the film. I have tracks from Salvadarlings and Fonz Whaler and also Josiah Birrell aka "GOVS" created the sound design for the film.

13' Super Blue Clark Foam Blank

The Big Slide - My buddy Art recently acquired a gigantic 13' super blue clark blank and brought it to the magic man, Kevin Connelly. The big blank made it's way to Jim "the genius" first for some rocker and custom stringers! Magic feet used his magic hands to construct this one off 13' big slider that is absolutely stunning. Finals dims from art and Kevin Connelly ... 13'-17"-25"-17"-4"! Holy shite that's not big slide that's ultra glide! Can't Wait to meet up with art this summer and give her a go at san o!!!!!!
